Swiss Chard with Garlic and Red Pepper

  • 1 bunch Swiss Chard
  • 1 sliced garlic clove
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • pinch of dried red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • salt to taste

Remove tough ends of stalk of the swiss chard.  Chop the leaves into 1 inch strips.  Heat pan over medium heat.  Add oil, slices of garlic and red pepper flakes.  Saute 1 minute.  Add swiss chard.  Cover.  Check in about 5 min.  Add water if  appears too dry.  Turn leaves.  Cover, and cook about 5 minutes more.  Salt and butter as desired.
